Engineered wood is multilayered flooring that combines real wood fibres, strains and veneers with a range of adhesives and resins. Its compressed nature means it offers superior stability rivalling hard wood alternatives.

Although laminate is generally more affordable, many homeowners choose engineered wood for an authentic look that also offers greater stability. Provided it’s properly maintained, engineered wood can also last longer.

The safest way to clean engineered wood is either by sweeping, vacuuming, or using a microfibre cloth or mop with a pH-neutral wood cleaner. Always avoid steam cleaning, harsh chemicals, or soaking the floor with a mop.

Engineered wood generally uses a tongue-and-groove or click-lock system meaning they can be installed by a trained fitter relatively quickly and mess-free. Some products might also require nails and glue.
