Microcement is a polymer-modified cement coating applied in thin layers to existing surfaces such as tiles, wood and drywall. It offers an industrial-themed aesthetic perfect for areas prone to moisture or heavy foot traffic.   

Microcement can be applied to vertical and horizontal surfaces such as ceilings, walls, countertops, wet rooms and even swimming pool surrounds. It’s applied in thin layers making it lighter than traditional concrete.

Provided it’s properly applied and maintained, microcement can last up to 20 years. As with any type of product, its lifespan depends on usage, the quality of installation and how many layers have been applied.

Applying microcement starts with priming the substrate before the cement mixture is carefully trowelled in multiple 1mm layers. Each layer is left to dry then sanded down and cleaned before the next layer is applied.
